The Corinthian order is one of the five classical column orders. In the hierarchy of the column orders it occupies the place between the ionic and the composite order. The column is on a multi-stage basis and the column shaft corresponds to the ionic column. The Corinthian capital is formed from the capital body. It is surrounded by two wreaths each consisting of eight acanthus leaves.
