This longitudinal connection is used to extend timber with larger cross-sections, e.g. middle purlins, ridge purlins or beams. The full cross section can be counted towards the load carrying capacity. When finishing, make sure that the top sheet sits on the bearing point and the bottom sheet is hung underneath. Bolts that hold both parts together are used to prevent lateral displacement.
